Applications for the 2010 Photo A Day Sessions are now closed.
All of the available spots filled up within 4 hours, and the back up spots all went within a few days!
Thanks for everyone who applied and keep your eyes out for the new applications in May 2011.
Hey Everyone!
Thank you very much for visiting my Blog and showing interest in my Photo-A-Day Project!
Basically with this project I am hoping do a few dedicated PAD shoots a week and display the images on this Blog. Because of the promotion, these mini-shoots are absolutely free!!!
For these free mini sessions, I am not accepting typical-style sessions. This is not a way to simply get a free, standard family picture. Rather, these sessions are open to those wanting to try new things and explore new (and potentially unsuccessful) possibilities. **See below** for a list of ideas that I wish to try, but feel free to include your own as well!
These are meant to be a creative collaboration that is going to be fun and will provide new possibilities for future clients. In essence you are taking a risk free step towards getting pictures that no one has ever gotten before!

If you are here to consider applying for your Free mini-shoot …awesome!
Details:
- I am planning on starting my PAD project in first full week of May and ending it at the end of May. Of course it may be cut short for a variety of reasons, but it may also (hopefully) be extended throughout the summer, depending on response and success.
- Each session will be about 30 minutes – 1.5 hours long (depending on the concept we work out), and in return for your time and a signed model release (so I can use the images for promotion) you will get a free mini-session and a free 11×14, as well as the opportunity to purchase other images from our session should you wish (but under no obligation)
- I’ll have roughly 2 opening per week for these mini-shoots and they will all be held between 4:00pm and 10:00pm on weekdays. When you sign up, please indicate both the dates and the times that you are available for. The more flexible you are, the more likely you are to get your free shoot!
- To apply for these mini-shoots, simply create a comment to this post detailing your available dates and times. It will not appear right away because I will be moderating all of these comments and only posting successful applications. Please use a valid email address for your comment as well as your phone number, as I will be contacting you via email to discuss this shoot – it will not be available to other posters to see.
- Unfortunately, due to time constraints, it is very likely that not everyone who applies will be accepted for these free mini session, so apply early, be flexible, and have some fun creative ideas that really push the artistic envelope! It might help your application if you have a bit of a “game plan” – being flexible is good, but saying “lets do whatever” doesn’t really help in the decission process. Find what kind of session (of my examples below, or your own idea) that you would be good for and well suited to you, your family, kids, partner, etc and lets do it!

The following dates are currently available for mini-shoots (will be updated as these dates fill up)
- May 3rd – 7th: no longer available
- May 10th – 14th: no longer available
- May 17th – 21st: FULL
- May 24th – 28th: FULL
- May 31st – June 4th: no longer available
- June 7th – 11th: FULL
- June 14th – 18th: FULL
- Backup Spots Open: FULL ***** These “backup spots” will be used if there is extra time in a week for another shoot, if a previous photo-a-day session is canceled, or if the promotion is extended further into June and the rest of the summer, then the registrants for these spots will be the first to access them.

The following is a list of ideas that I would like to try for these sessions. If you think you’d be well suited for one of these sessions and would love some free pictures, please sign up, or refer anyone to this page who you think might fit well. But these are only some starting ideas – include your own too!
- **NEW** Kids: underwater session in your backyard pool (at least 5 feet deep) – its going to be completely AWESOME!!!
- Couples: high-fashion / high-end model oriented couples shoot in a grungy setting
- Couples: session with a really nice car (Grand Touring Sports or Classic)
- Family or Kids or Couples: fun day in Kinsmen park on the rides
- Family or Kids: take me somewhere new and interesting! Farm, lake, cabin, somewhere special!
- Family or Kids: session up at Waskesiu lake or Pike Lake (or any lake for that fact)
- Family or Kids: Waterfight (again, I know, but it was so awesome last time!)
- Kids (boys): “Life of a boy”, preferably around 5-7 years, based around capturing the world the the eyes of a boy. Possible “planes, trains and automobiles” emphasis
- Kids (girls): “”Life of a girl”, preferably around 5-7 years, based around capturing the world the the eyes of a girl. Possible “fantasy” emphasis
- Wedding: “day after” type session (just bride, or with groom too) with liberal allowances with the dress (what some have called “trash the dress sessions”)
I really look forward to the creative and collaborative possibilities that await us through this project! Have an awesome spring and I really look forward to hearing from you!

Please use a valid email address for your comment as well as your phone number, as I will be contacting you via email to discuss this shoot – neither will be available to other readers to see. Applications without both forms of contact information will not be accepted.
Oh, and I’ll edit your comments to fit the format I am using, so just say what you’re thinking and I’ll edit it, post it, and contact you for details!
